The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the highlights of most safaris. This natural wonder is unparalleled in its distinguished scenic beauty, wildlife and atmosphere. The colourful crater floor is mainly flat, covered with nourishing grasses, providing a paradise for animals. Its home to around round 25.000 animals including the Big Five and the rare black rhino. Nearly all the big wild animals can be seen in the crater.

Lemala Ngorongoro

The intimate Lemala Ngorongoro Tented Camp is set in the shade of an ancient acacia forest, right on the rim of the beautiful Ngorongoro Crater. The camp offers accommodation in nine spacious canvas tents with comfortable beds, gas heaters for the cool evenings, 24-hour solar lighting and charming ensuite bathrooms with a dressing area and showers. The intimate restaurant has a lounge area with comfortable seats and sofas. Delicious meals are served at a single long table either indoors or out. In the evenings there is an outside fireplace with seating area. From this camp guests have quick and easy access into the crater.

The Highlands Camp

Inspired by the shape of the traditional Maasai homes (called bomas), the Highlands lodge is set on the edge of the mountain forest along the slopes of the Olmoti volcano. It is the highest-altitude property in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, offering breathtaking views from all sides. The eight dome suites are made of canvas with a large perspex window, overlooking the wild and untouched areas of the Ngorongoro highlands. They each have king-size beds, hot running water, showers and flushing toilets. There are also stoves that can be used for cooler evenings. The Highlands Lodge offers guests comfort, intimacy and a unique and memorable stay.

Rhino Lodge

Rhino Lodge is a basic lodge in a great location facing dense forest on the slopes of the Ngorongoro Crater, close to the rim. It's refreshingly simple with a relaxed atmosphere. The lodge has 24 bedrooms, and features double and twin beds, with an optional third bed. The rooms are simply furnished with Masai décor, en-suite bathrooms with hot and cold water. Each room has a private veranda overlooking a stretch of high montane forest. Almost all the staff comes from the local village, and part of the lodge's income goes directly to the Maasai community.
