Immerse yourself in the local culture
The people are the country. Tanzania has 130 different tribes representing all the African ethnic groups. So many visitors to Tanzania only come to see the wildlife, missing out on something even more touching - the local tribes and cultures.
We have been offering cultural experiences in Mto Wa Mbu village since 2000. We offer you a stroll through modern Africa - to spend a few hours seeing how Africans are living today.
If you are interested in a deeper and more meaningful connection with the local people, we offer you the opportunity to truly get immersed in a local tribe for a few days. Our speciality is the Hadzabe Bushman and the Masaai. For these experiences see our walking safaris.

Tuk Tuk tour through Mto Wa Mbu
The Tuk Tuk is the major means of transportation in Mto Wa Mbu. Being light, small and easy to ride this vehicle is easy to get between farms and local houses. A Tuk Tuk can carry up to three passengers on a bench seat behind and a driver and a guide. The major advantage of a Tuk Tuk is that one can easily get away from main tracks and explore the more rural parts of Mto Wa Mbu village. The sides of the vehicle are open so you can still have a great feeling of being outside and connected with the people and places.
A Tuk Tuk tour will always be with a driver and a Wayo Africa guide who will ensure that the tour is interesting, fun and safe at all times. The tour will last for approximately 1 hour and take you deep in to the village to visit farms, local houses, schools, milling machines, churches and much more. The Wayo guide is highly trained and fluent in English.
