Serengeti Walking Safaris

Walk the Serengeti plains on an amazing safari experience

Explore the Serengeti on foot. Get closer to nature than ever before. Discover undisturbed wildlife and enjoy the serenity of the environment on a beautiful walking safari in the Serengeti.

Remote areas of the Serengeti

We are operating our walks inside wilderness and rhino protection zones where few others are allowed. We have vast, untouched wilderness to explore in solitude. These remote areas mainly consists of gentle rolling hills with small streams, springs in the valleys and small grassland plains surrounded by sparse acacia forests. Big granite outcrops called kopjes give the area a great feel and look.

Witness wildebeest migration

Being an area of varied eco-zones and vegetation types the Serengeti is home to all of Africa's mammals and a huge variety of birds, reptiles and insects. A fair amount of wildlife is resident in the area all year round, due to permanent springs. We seasonally move our walking operations to co-inside with the wildebeest migration. Walks are under-taken by specially trained guides and national park rangers who carry rifles for safety reasons.

Walk from camp to camp - take a trek with our flycamps!

During this thrilling Serengeti walking safari you will walk from camp to camp. You  won' t need to carry anything besides a daypack containing personal items for a day walk, water and potentially a snack prepared by the cook. All meals served in the camp will be three course meals.

Lightweight walking camp

The only roads that exist into these areas are access roads to the camp sites. Since there are no permanent accommodation facilities in the walking zones a small, lightweight camp is perfect. Our Walking Safari Camp is comfortable and set at stunning locations.

Walking schedule

Generally your day will start with a light breakfast to get you walking around 06:30h. Our camp cook will prepare a packed breakfast that will be enjoyed on a rock or next to a stream somewhere out there. Your guide will aim to have you back in camp before its too hot for a sit down lunch. Afternoons are generally spend like the animals with eyes closed in a shady place. As the day cools down you set off on a shorter afternoon walk to enjoy an African sunset.
