How much will it cost?
Katavi National Park is one of the most remote and wild reserves in East Africa. The place to be for those who are looking for an authentic safari experience in untamed wilderness. It's home to an abundance of wildlife and one of the few places where you see more lions than people. Enjoy the vast herds of buffaloes, rivers filled with hippos, elephants, giraffes and exotic picnics overlooking waterholes or bird-rich swamps.
The best accommodation in Katavi:
Chada Katavi Camp
In the shade of large acacia trees is the beautiful Chada Katavi. It offers guests breathtaking panoramic views from the dining area and private tents. Six beautifully furnished tents boast fine wooden furniture, comfy beds, and a lovely private bush bathroom with hot showers set behind the tent. Here you stay in the heart of Katavi’s untamed wilderness. Camps don’t come a lot more remote than this.
Price range: $788 to $980 p.p. (fullboard, incl. activities and drinks).
Katavi Wildlife Camp
A superb small camp, looking out onto the plains, at the mouth of the Katuma River system. Located in the acacia forest at the edge of the plains, this camp really blends into the habitat. The camp benefits hugely from having a prime spot at the mouth of the Katuma River. Every day, during the dry season, an abundance of game can be seen around the waterholes in front of the camp. The 6 tents are simple in their design, but very comfortable and homely. It’s an excellent place to come and see game and experience all that Katavi as a safari destination has to offer.
Price range: $420 to $585 pp (fullboard)
