Although we try to get your feet on solid Tanzanian soil whenever we can, using vehicles for Game Drives to get close to wild animals in safety is essential. All our Safari vehicles are custom designed to ensure the best wildlife viewing and comfort. This is crucial when spending up to 10-hours a day game viewing from the vehicle.
Game Package Vehicles
These are open cruisers which we use in the parks if you have booked on a game package basis. These have open sides and we use a combination of smaller Suzukis which seat 4-5 and larger land cruisers seating 6-7. If you are staying in Wayo Africa Camps these will be branded Wayo Africa.
Private Vehicle and Guide
This is generally booked if you are travelling between a number of different parks. You can have a private vehicle throughout your whole Safari into the Serengeti although most guests fly into the Serengeti especially if camps are based in the North. As our Wilderness brand in Tanzania now acts as the ground handler, the branding for these vehicles will be Wilderness.
Transfers from Kilimanjaro Airport
Transfers will be handled by our team in our comfortable Wilderness vans. These will collect you from the airport and will take you for your first night in Arusha and will later return you back to the airport after your Safari.
Open roof
The roof can be removed so that you can stand-up and have a better vantage for viewing.
Power inverters
All our vehicles have 110v and 220v power adaptors to make it possible to charge camera batteries.
Fridge or coolbox
All our vehicles have a small fridge where water and drinks can be kept cold.
Coffee box
Every Safari departs with a coffee box with snacks, coffee and tea that can be enjoyed at anytime on a Game Drive.
First Aid box
Every Safari vehicle has a First Aid box and the Guide is trained to use this.
Wildlife books and maps
Every Safari vehicle is outfitted with a set of mammal and bird books and maps of the area.
